Zelenskyy Formally Rejects Trump-Putin Peace Plan, Vows to Not Cede Territory

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has formally rejected the peace framework proposed by Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, declaring that his country will not surrender its sovereignty or territory in exchange for a ceasefire. In a televised address on August 15, 2025, Zelenskyy condemned the proposal as a "betrayal of our national interest" that would legitimize Russia's illegal occupation of Ukrainian land, including Crimea and parts of the Donbas and southern regions.
