Federal agents arrested 114 undocumented immigrants during a late-night raid at Club Fuego in Grand Junction, Colorado, marking one of the largest single-location immigration enforcement actions this year. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted the operation just after midnight Saturday, claiming the nightclub served as a distribution hub for fentanyl-laced counterfeit prescription drugs. Among those detained were 23 employees and 91 patrons, with authorities alleging all were in the U.S. illegally. Colorado immigration advocates immediately denounced the raid as heavy-handed, noting that only 8 of those arrested faced drug-related charges while the remainder were detained solely for immigration violations. "This was a fishing expedition disguised as a drug operation," said Lucia Reyes of the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, pointing out that no significant drug quantities were seized. DEA Special Agent in Charge Mark Holloway defended the action, stating the agency had "credible intelligence" about drug transactions occurring at the establishment.
